Summer Licensed Childcare Program

Qualifies for DES assistance.

This program gives children who have completed kindergarten through those entering 8th grade, the opportunity to participate in a variety of fun activities, such as arts and crafts, group games, events and more — all in a supervised, safe and secure environment. It is fee-based, licensed and regulated by the Arizona Department of Health Services and qualifies for DES assistance. Registration forms, including immunization and emergency information, must be completed and turned in 2 business days before a child may attend. Beginning Monday, May 17, registration will be accepted at the Glendale Parks and Recreation office, 5850 W. Glendale Ave., Mon.–Fri. 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Payment may be made with VISA, MasterCard, American Express, cash, check or money order. For more information, call 623-930-2832.

Foothills 360  

Youth ages 5 to 11— join us for this great supervised, drop-in program featuring all program areas at the Foothills Recreation & Aquatics Center! You’ll be in age-appropriate groups and there will be swimming available one day a week (remember the swimsuit, sunscreen and towel). For lunch, bring a non-perishable lunch or purchase your lunch at the café. Oh... and don’t forget to wear tennis shoes! Foothills 360 offers two weekday program options — a 3-DAY OPTION (choose days from Monday through Thursday) or 5-DAY OPTION. 5-Day Program: $100 per week (Non-resident $135 per week). 3-Day Program: $66 per week (Non-resident $83 per week). G.R.A.S.P. (Glendale Recreation After School Program)

Begins again August 2! G.R.A.S.P., is a supervised, drop-in recreation program for Glendale youth, grades 1st through 8th. Professional staff provides a variety of fun and educational programs including study time, indoor/outdoor activities, clubs, games, mini tournaments and guest speakers. Participants can register at the G.R.A.S.P. sites, noted at the right, during the first two weeks of school. When registering, proof of residency, such as a utility bill, vehicle registration or drivers license must be provided; otherwise, the non-resident supply fee will apply. After the initial two-week registration period, registrations must be completed at the Glendale Parks and Recreation office at 5850 W. Glendale Ave., Mon.-Fri., 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Supply fee per semester: Glendale resident $35 (Non-resident $45). For more information, call 623-930-4700.

Before/After School Licensed Recreation Programs

Returns August 9! The “AM/PM” and “PM ONLY” programs are licensed recreation programs providing a variety of activities for children ages 5-13. Featured are arts and crafts, recreation activities, guest speakers and much more! The program’s goal is the total well-being and safety of each and every child. Educational activities, snacks, arts and crafts, guest speakers and homework time are offered by caring, adult staff members. The programs are regulated by the Arizona Department of Health Services and can accept DES qualifying families (contact your caseworker for information on DES).

PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED, including a non-refundable registration fee for the school year. Registration must be completed at least 2 business days prior to program site attendance. As part of your registration, each family will select one of the programs on the right. Registration booklets with more detailed information are available at each site or at the Glendale Parks and Recreation office at 5850 W.
