Temporary Event Planner
HIRING RANGE: $14.78/hr. - $19.22/hr.

NOTE: This is a part-time temporary position that is grant funded through the end of December 2011. The specific purpose for this position is to assist the Glendale Police Department in the coordination of a two-day training conference in the areas of Domestic Violence, Sex Crimes, Child Crimes and Victim Services.
JOB ELEMENTS INCLUDE:
- Assist in the coordination of the curriculum committee, event planning, and evaluation and tracking of a two-day sex crimes training conference.
- Coordinates and attends meetings; and provides administrative support to the curriculum committee.
- Works with speakers, facility and caterer, to coordinate issues related to scheduling the agenda and program material.
- Assists in the development of public information materials needed for the two-day event including program and site map.
- Provides assistance to department or outside interests requesting event planning information.
- Handles the registration process, determines needs, estimates costs and prepares reports.
- Monitors the grant budget; coordinates billing and tracks budget expenditures, timelines, and assists with producing compliance reports relative to the two-day event.
- Conducts research, analyzes findings, and prepares reports and recommendations.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school education and one year of college coursework (at least 30 semester hours) in business, marketing, public administration or related field, and one year experience working in a criminal justice environment. Preference will be given to applicants with training or experience in the field of sex crimes and proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Any equivalent combination of training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, is qualifying.
