The Building Safety Department is the central resource for building construction, code information, plan review, permit issuance and building construction inspection. The department consists of the building inspection, plan review, development services center and cross connection control divisions.

Our mission is to protect the lives and safety of Glendale residents through the implementation of building, plumbing, mechanical and electrical codes.

	Inspection Line - Get Your Results Same Day! Glendale's Building Safety Department now offers a service that allows customers to call an inspection line and obtain their inspection results that day! The number is 623-915-3263 and choose option 3.

	"Light Pole Banner" Policy The Banner Program is intended to provide pride in the community, add color and excitement to the city’s streetscape, promote community activities, special events, and other cultural or sporting activities, as well as promote programs important to the city’s image, economic interest and organizations serving the community. 	Technical Guideline For Slack Wires The issue is the installation of “slack wires” for supplementary support of suspended ceiling luminaires (fixtures) and mechanical installations. Some contractors have made reference to the 2006 IBC Code and the fact that this does not apply to our seismic zone area any longer. However, the City of Glendale has enforced this for many years now and some manufacturers may even require it in their installation instructions for the grid ceiling.
