Foothills Park, 57th Avenue and Union Hills Drive, has an area located northeast of the softball complex and access is from the Foothills Library parking lot. An auxilary dog park just south of the Foothills Library on 57th Avenue is also available. Dogs and owners can enjoy the special areas for small dogs, grass, shade, benches and an agility course. This dog park is closed on Wednesdays.
WE'RE EXPANDING! Foothills Dog Park is currently receiving an expansion to the facility.
Over 18,300 square feet of turf is being added. By adding this additional area, a rotational schedule will be used to allow one area of turf to rest and recuperate while the other area is in use. A small dog and large dog area will be available for use in every rotation. The rotation schedule will allow for less maintenance issues and better turf for the users.
The new section will have three new shade structures, benches, garbage cans and pooper scoopers.
The expansion will be completed and open for use by the public on Sunday, Aug. 1.
