Dedicate a Tree Program - A Gift That Lives Year After Year
Honor a relative, a loved one or a special friend by dedicating a tree in their name.
The City of Glendale Parks & Recreation Department offers you a very unique and thoughtful way to celebrate life and love while making an extremely meaningful contribution to your community. Through the city's “Dedicate-A-Tree” program, you have the opportunity to give a rare gift - one that lives and can be enjoyed for years to come.
| This program enables you to have a 24-inch box tree planted in a Glendale city park to celebrate special occasions such as births, weddings, birthdays, anniversaries or graduations. Watch the tree grow along with the child or union to which it is dedicated. Or commemorate the loss of a loved one or dear friend by planting a living memorial that could last for years. |

Civic and youths groups, sports teams or churches can use the “Dedicate-A-Tree” program to honor individuals for special achievements or leadership. This is a wonderful way for your group to display its pride in the community.

All you have to do to participate in this program is complete the form (Click here to download), make a donation of $150, recommend a city park for the tree’s home and select the type of tree you would like planted (see the listing at the right). The money will be used to purchase a 24-inch box tree. Only large trees are planted because they have the best chance of survival and they are only planted in the spring and fall. The Glendale Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to adjust the park site or tree type to assure compatibility with the Parks Master Plan and low-water use guidelines.
Once your form and donation have been received, staff from the Parks and Recreation Department will contact you personally to make arrangements for your tree planting. You will be notified as to the date, time and location of the planting so that you may be present and will know exactly where the tree is growing. You will also receive a plaque to keep or give as a gift. We will inscribe it according to your wishes to indicate who or what your tree is honoring.
If you have a question about this program, please call (623) 930-2691 or (623) 930-2820. Hearing impaired, call TDD at (623) 930-2197. |
