The City of Glendale Radio Club (COGRC) is looking for licensed amateur radio volunteers to assist the City of Glendale in providing emergency communications in times of emergency or disaster.
COGRC volunteers will also have the opportunity to work the various special events in the City of Glendale , which include the Fiesta and Super Bowls.
The City of Glendale is currently building a new Emergency Operations Center (EOC), which will include ham radio equipment. Along with the EOC, the City of Glendale has recently acquired, an all-inclusive communications van, which includes ham gear.
Volunteer service, as a COGRC member, will include working closely with police and fire personnel. Volunteers can also elect to become a registered member of a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT).
COGRC provides plenty of opportunities for volunteers to assist with the public service aspect of amateur radio.
