Green Film Festival
More TV viewers are seeing green thanks to Glendale 11’s award-winning show “Glendale’s Home Green Home.” Not only has this program won an Emmy award, it’s now hitting the film festival circuit with its recent acceptance as an entry at the U.S. Green Building (USGB) Council’s Film Festival.
The film festival takes place in conjunction with the USGB’s 2009 Green Building, International Conference and Expo at the Phoenix Convention Center on Wednesday, Nov. 11. Ten films will be previewed at the festival by supporters of green building initiatives.
In “Glendale’s Home Green Home,” environmentalists, community and neighborhood activists and city officials team up to enhance the life of a local family by building a platinum-level green home.
Glendale 11 TV captures the two-week period for constructing the healthy, environmentally friendly Habitat for Humanity home in the heart of downtown Glendale.
“Glendale’s Home Green Home” earned an Emmy award in the Best Environment Program/Special category and also received second place for best Documentary/Event coverage from a national government television organization.
The program airs on Glendale 11 TV every Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. and at various other times throughout the week.
