Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT)

Glendale Fire Department requires that all firefighter recruits have passed a Candidate Physical Abilities Test (CPAT) within 6 months of hire date.  Currently Glendale Fire Department does not host a CPAT.  Interested applicants are encouraged to enroll in a local CPAT process.

If you have never taken a CPAT, need to renew because your last CPAT was longer than 6 months ago or need to retake a CPAT due to failure: Glendale Fire Department encourages applicants to sign-up for GCC’s CPAT or through the National Testing Network.

Applicants can contact Glendale Community College at (623) 845-3439 with questions concerning GCC’s CPAT.  Applicants can also go on-line to www.gc.maricopa.edu/fsc/advisement_registration.htm for downloadable CPAT forms.

The National Testing Network also offers CPAT testing on a weekly basis.  You can register on-line at www.nationaltestingnetwork.com

OUT-OF-STATE APPLICANTS:  Glendale Fire Department only recognizes CPAT’s from agencies in the Phoenix Metropolitan area.  This would include area fire departments, National Testing Network, or through the Maricopa County Community College District.
