About Us
The Neighborhood Partnership Office is responsible for the administration of Glendale University, the Homeowners’ Association Training Academy, the Neighborhood Improvement Grants Program, the Community Mediation Program and the Community Volunteer Program.
It is a “one-stop” center for Glendale neighborhoods, homeowners’ associations and community groups who are seeking assistance on neighborhood and community issues, the coordination of special events and volunteer projects, the distribution of important information to neighborhood residents, building capacity in their neighborhoods, the implementation of neighborhood capital improvements and conflict resolution.
Over the past 13 years, the Neighborhood Partnership Office has demonstrated an impressive body of work that reflects accomplishments in all three areas of the city’s strategic priorities, safety, service and quality of life.
Registered neighborhoods have climbed to over 202 neighborhood associations. This involvement of neighbors knowing neighbors helps improve community safety and the ability of neighborhoods to work together to improve where they live. Approximately $8.6 million has been distributed as neighborhood improvement grants, which enhance quality of life for the whole city. In the Community Volunteer Program, during the last FY, 2,240 volunteers have donated nearly 9,000 volunteer hours that represent more than $175,500 in value. Since the program began in 1998, more than 19,000 volunteers have participated, giving more than 71,000 hours for a dollar value of more than $800,000. Each of these projects rely on the participation of Glendale residents and as a result, the city has a developed a reliable corps of community volunteers who routinely donate time to enhance the quality of life in Glendale. |
