Glendale, AZ – 2012-13 Budget Website

Welcome to the city of Glendale’s 2012-13 budget website. This site’s purpose is to inform citizens about budget adjustment proposals being considered for the 2012-13 fiscal year operating budget.

The City Council will begin annual budget workshop meetings in February, and the final budget is expected to be adopted by the council in June (see schedule below).

Proposed schedule for adoption of the FY 2013 budget and property tax levy, per requirements in state statutes, is as follows:

  • Q: Will there be an increase to water, sewer or sanitation rates? 
    A: Currently, city staff is proposing that there be no rate increase to water, sewer or sanitation for the 2012-2013 budget.
  • Q: What is the total General Fund operating budget? 
    A: The fiscal year 2012 operating budget for the general fund only is $131.7 million.
  • Q: What has the city done the past few years with its budget?
    A: Each year, by law, the city is required to adopt a balanced budget. The city has had four consecutive years (FY 2009 thru FY 2012) of budget reductions resulting in a balanced budget each time. The city’s goal with budget reductions is to minimize the impact to services and programs to the community and to stay focused on strategic goals set by the City Council.
