Update on Potential Transit Strike - New Deadline Set for Sept. 30
The potential strike over contract negotiations with one of the city of Phoenix transit service operators, Veolia, on its union collective bargaining agreements has been averted for now. Parties are continuing to negotiate with a new deadline of Sept. 30. The city of Glendale will continue to monitor this situation and will inform the public regarding any potential affects to bus service. |

Important Information for Property Owners:
Updates Made to Policy Relating to Utility Account Holders
The city of Glendale is revising its policy relating to utility account holders, in which an account will be allowed to be opened in a property owner’s name only. This new policy is due to recent legislative action, HB2450, which went into effect on July 29, 2010. The new city policy went into effect Sept. 7, 2010 and will apply to new utility accounts; existing utility accounts will not be affected until a change in occupancy occurs. Learn more |

Glendale Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month – September 16
The community is welcome to attend the Glendale Hispanic Network Luncheon on Thursday, Sept. 16, at the Glendale Civic Center, 5750 W. Glenn Drive. The Glendale City Council has unanimously voted to approve a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) from Ice Edge Holdings to purchase the National Hockey League (NHL) Coyotes.
